We are a London based contemporary home decor business, passionate about slow design and sustainable living. Bird Foliage came to life when we fell in love with the natural colours and block prints of a Persian technique called Ghalamkar. When we found out that these natural dyes can only become permanent in the waters of a specific river in Isfahan, we decided that it fits perfectly into our sustainable lifestyle and felt passionate about keeping this beautiful art alive. We handcraft our fabrics with the same dyeing and weaving techniques of 17th century Persian/Safavid era textiles. These sustainable techniques guarantee long-lasting products and are still relevant in the contemporary lifestyle.
